This is still on going research but yes, there is this wildy awesome looking Bloody Belly Comb Jelly they've nicknamed the "Amber Lampo" behind the scenes right now. As well as the Purple one on display right now, which I'll send a picture of. There's research going on to see if these are just different varieties, or if they're actually new species.
-Those Red Shrimps are Gnathophausia ingens, which were the same species on display in the Old Deep Sea Exhibit. Tommy told me these were actually in the spot of the Sea Angels, but they were taken off display since: They absolutely LOVE to hang by the walls. Which is true, the 10 - 15 minutes we were by their tank, only 2 truly swam and it was so they could move to the other side of the tank lol. They would be almost non-viewable so they took them off. They still could be a possible display animal, but probably once the Aquarium figures out how to make it pleasing to view them.
-There are no Balloon Worms on display right now, but they have like 50 or 60 of them Behind the Scenes in the Deep-Sea Jelly Lab. They're an animal they plan to put on display for sure, and fun Fact Tommy told me:
They're currently working on a way to display both the Balloon Worms AND Sea Angels in the SAME tank. For whatever reason, they do really well together. I should've asked more about that. So maybe we'll see a Sea Angel/Balloon Worm tank in the future.
-The Aquarium has spawned Bloody Belly Comb Jellies before in the past. The eggs are bright blue and quite large, and they were able to hatch them. Unfortunately not able to raise them but that's still awesome. They're currently working on how to make them spawn reliably
Theres so many behind the scenes pics I'd love to send, but waiting on confirmation from Paul Clarkson first.
