Almost 20 years ago, I'm fairly certain they had the largest subspecies, the cape buffalo. I don't know if it's a matter of semantics or if all of the subspecies were collectively known as cape buffalo then, or if they're all known as forest buffalo now. When I was there in 2012 and 2015, I didn't look at the signage, just assuming it was the cape subspecies, but the two are different. The cape buffalo is from southern Africa (hence "Cape), and its size is twice that of the forest buffalo. I don't know what sub species is there now or if I'm explaining it the right way, so here is a Wiki link about what I mean:

There is a herd of Cape buffalo at the Safari Park. The zoo had a small group of the forest buffalo in the 1990s.

Thank you too for this. I just finished a list of want-to-see species and I think it'll help a lot.

One last question, for now, does anyone know if the aye-ayes in Asia Passage ever come out into public viewing and if so, when?

I think they stay strictly in the night quarters, all my past visits for 2 moths I have yet to see any evidence that it does come out. But when you are by its exhibit, there is a sign with a QR code about its whereabouts and I’ve not scanned the code personally to see what it does, maybe I’ll do it this week. I hope they do move the aye ayes into a nocturnal house so they can be in darkness and admired at all times :)
 
I saw the aye-aye and took a horrible photo of it in 2014. They used to have an "Inside Look : Twilight Tour" but I don't believe they are offering that at this time of year.
