King Cobra Sanctuary Man bitten by Cobra

This is very sad news,I just hope its not who I think it is thats died because if it is the Reptile world has lost a very good man,who really knew his stuff!!

Snake breeder dead after being bitten by one of his own snakes - mirror.co.uk

This article has a little more info on this tragic incident - it is believed to be Luke Yeomans, of course this is speculation on the part of the paper but the pieces fit to it being a staff member of the KCS.

On the previous article, a comment asks 'will the snake be put down' - I hope not, and I'm sure that if it is Luke he would not want that either - an amazing man with such passion for the species and his work with them.
 
Well if its true which looks very likely my thoughts are with his daughter Nic and the rest of his family,and also with his Curator at the KCS Mark,as I know they will all be shocked and saddened by whats happened.
 
:( Rest in Peace Luke - you great, great man! As I previously said, you have done so much for this species and the conservation and education of it.

Having just read zoogiraffes post, I agree. My sympathy goes out to his family and friends.

Can only echo what others have already said, very sad news, a great loss to the zoological world and sincere sympathies to all those connected.

Very sad: I'm sure he knew what he was doing, though it does sound like he sometimes pushed the limits.

Here's a quote from the BBC report:

"Mr Yeomans compared his passion for snakes with other people's obsessions with fast cars.

"People do say that I am mad but I say it's better than people saying you're bad. I think everything I am doing is good," he said."

Well said I think.
 
Tragic news indeed.
Hopefully this new specialist collection will still continue the vital work it set out to achieve in memory and in tribute to a great man with a passion for the conservation of endangered reptiles.
 
Although I can see my concerns confirmed I told in another thread, I wish I was wrong and Mr Yeoman would be still alive...
Very sad news.
