Chester Zoo Mandrills at Chester

Paignton's mandrills: Jumanji's mother came to Paignton with him and then paired with Brutus to produce Akello before her death. Female Missy gave birth to Makemba before losing a baby last year. She died in December.

Thanks Gigit , when I saw the group last Spring there did not appear to be any cohesion , just a group of animals sharing a space but not interacting very much . I cannot see any future for the group now without some moves . From what you say , Jumanji is not directly related to Makemba , so they could form the basis of a new group .

I believe(Gigit will confirm?) the two females that were the breeders (both now dead) came from the same zoo in France, if so, probably related, so the two young ones are possibly distantly related also but its still the best option unless they exchange.

Sadly Missy's recent death has set them back here.

Yes, they both came from Safari de Peugres in France.
