On March 11th, the zoo announced they acquired (1.1) sugar gliders named Mork and Mindy.*

On May 25th, the zoo announced they renovated the white-tailed deer yard, adding a new shelter and elevated dry area.

On June 3rd, it was reported that the zoo has started the design process of turning the old grey wolf exhibit into one for cougars, with construction planned to start later in 2022.

Changes Coming To Lincoln Park Zoo

On July 10th, the zoo announced they built a new outdoor exhibit for their (0.1) African spurred tortoise named Rosie, which is located adjacent to the keeper building.

On August 24th, the zoo announced they renovated the North American porcupine exhibit, adding new shelter structures.

On October 3rd, the zoo announced they acquired a (0.1) wild turkey named Grace from a wildlife rehabilitation center.

Updates from my visit today:

-The American Millipede has been replaced by a Giant Vinegaroon.
-The old Central Bearded Dragon/Russian Tortoise has been cleared out and repainted. A sign said "new Sugar Glider exhibit coming soon".
-The Russian Tortoise now inhabits one of the wall terrariums.
-The new Sugar Glider is already visible in a cage inside the African Spurred Tortoise exhibit.
 
The zoo announced today that Honey, the 25 year old Asiatic Black Bear, was humanely euthanized on May 22 due to unexpected health complications.

Really sorry to hear this. Asiatic black bears are such a neat species and she was not only of the last of her kind in the United States (I almost arranged a trip to Manitowoc just to see her) but also one of the zoo's main attractions - not for the species rarity but as their main large animal.
