Last year, we welcomed Barney to Manor Wildlife Park as a mate for our beautiful Betty, and guess what? Babies HAVE arrived! On 9th July, Betty gave birth to TRIPLETS! Good result and a continuation of the Whipsnade / Edinburgh line - Barney, previously known as Alex was one of two cubs born to Ruby and Nilo in 2023. I guess they changed his name for the Flintstone theme when he moved; though we mentioned his name had changed when he moved zoos, I didn't realise it was for that theme, makes sense now. Ruby came from Edinburgh and Alex's sister Priya went back there, Nilo was born at Whipsnade. How nice to see youngsters moving on to breeding success at new collections.
All seven Sumatran Tigers have been integrated as one large display group. Not only has the sire been reintroduced but also the older offspring Zaza as well - reported on their FB page.

Sumatran tiger cub Maddox required surgery on an eyelid after dad Jaya attacked him over food. Could have been a lot worse. I do not understand why they are risking these cubs.
