Chester Zoo Marsupials return to Chester

Indeed the aardwolf at the RSCC were housed by the footbridge and opposite the binturong. I certainly never saw aardwolf kept with wallabies on any of my visits; that would have been a very strange mixed exhibit.
That's what I was thinking, but it might have been a temporary thing as I don't remember seeing them indoors at all. I thought I had photos but looks like I deleted one of my two visits.
Anyway, it'll be nice to see them in Chester.

the old cassowary enclosure looks ready...
Apart from the huge hole in the fence.

The dusky pademelon are not on show, despite what may be implied (prematurely) on social media. The enclosure is being partitioned so that they're easier to manage, with a fence roughly splitting it into two going in today (Tuesday 22nd). It then needs to be hot-wired and the keepers happy that they're in their routine. So to be safe, don't expect them on-show before this coming Friday.

Worth noting this is the second marsupial of the year after the tree kangaroo, they are definitely a resurgent animal group at Chester and I couldn't be happier!

While last year (and to some extent early this year with the ploughshares) was the year of Madagascan species and the return of a few old species to Chester, as of now I think this is the year of the marsupial though new arrivals could change that if they are very significant.
