They're still in a few UK collections, closest to Marwell probably being Africa Alive

I certainly won’t be travelling there anytime soon unfortunately.
Marwell is improving after many years of disappointments but we may still mourn the loss of some of their iconic species.

Does that mean it is now just sitatunga in the paddock behind the gift shop? Are there any plans for that paddock as their numbers have been dwindling too?

The red river hogs had access to that paddock too when I went a couple of weeks back

Yes; that total includes domestic goat, domestic sheep, alpaca, domestic yak, domestic pig, zebu, and Bactrian camel.

You know, I completely forgot to check Port Lympne mea culpa!

Port Lympne is sitting pretty on 35 and therefore is in a strong second place - however, if one discounts domestic taxa then both Whipsnade and Port Lympne share the top spot at 33.

This does of course push Marwell down into 4th place!
