Marwell Wildlife Marwell Zoo News 2021

No the Anoa enclosure near entrance has gone the pair there were moved up by the tropical house.
So they are still by the Tropical House?
Sorry for the questions but I haven't been to Marwell in over 4 years as I found each visit was more depressing than the previous one!
I may finally go back this year

As far as I can establish, you mean where historically, the old quarantine yard was, and close to the now siamang cage?

According to this month's Keeper Contact, 3.2 Nominate turquoise tanager have arrived from Wuppertal. I don't know if this means Wuppertal is out of this species. Paul Irven (the writer) also states that 3 swift parrots and 0.1 Lac Alatora gentle lemur have died.

Only one of the 3 swift parrots has died, they are a new species for Marwell as are the turquoise tanagers a Javan mouse deer has been born in the tropical house.

Sad news released today

Isabella the giraffe (possible hybrid) has been PTS after "several ongoing health conditions which due to their complexity became increasingly difficult to manage". She was 19 years old.

I believe all Marwell’s giraffe are hybrid (at least so I was told when I did the feeding experience there in 2019) but would be happily corrected if I’m wrong.
