WHAT!?!? I really hope this pans out well and we can get more info soon. The old gift shop is where I’m guessing the new reptile/amphibian exhibit is going with PGF and Gila monsters since it’s already being redisgned. NEW RAPTOR EXHIBITS FINALLY. The North American Porcupine exhibit is almost done too. GIBBONS TOO. And new bear exhibit space too WITH WOLVERINES. Wow. The crane barn must fit into this somehow too. They have a building rehab team working on it and the Abyssinian ground hornbills moved to African Journey. Maybe the new rapper exhibit.
Redesigned bear exhibits with wolverines... does this mean they're done with polar bears?

Unlikely. In the sense that they will be advertised as grizzly exhibits yes. But as long as there are two exhibit yards then I very much doubt it. If they’re tearing down the current Denning that might change things. However, they recently requested to act as a holding facility for more polar bears to the AZA. The problem is there just aren’t enough to go around. They probably just don’t wanna get the guests’ hopes up. As far as this new master plan describes, that would be the only major, mega fauna addition. Hopefully it’s just good marketing. They stated their commitment to the species, they’ve requested more, and they’re going to be building new exhibits. Plus, a polar bear cub would be a really great way to help restock on some of the major cash they’re gonna be spending on these new exhibits and their inhabitants.

Northern Passage - North American porcupine exhibit is complete. Lots of ample climbing spaces and a decent addition to the original Common raven exhibit. Oscar is still in Wading Bird outdoor holding at the moment, so he should be on exhibit shortly. Other exhibit updates include additional exhibit graphics, information boards, and a simulated bear den.

Main Valley - Crane Barn is almost finished. Currently the building is being painted. I'll update the media gallery when the renovation is complete. A few of the old Victorian cages have been removed.

Overall, lots of minor cosmetic changes and a sprucing up the campus after the Zoo and nearby National Aquarium co-hosted the AZA Annual Conference earlier in the month. The Zoo also has started advertising their newly released master plan. Banners highlighting proposed changes have been installed and based on what I overheard, many guests are quite excited for the changes.

What parts of the master plan is the zoo using on the banners to get people excited about their plans?

Apologies for all of the questions! Is that publicly accessible? I've visited quite a few times but don't have a ton of knowledge of exhibit layout!
Yes! The small exhibit yard is one of two viewable yards. It surrounds half of the tortoise yard. It is L shaped with long grasses and trees so isn’t always easy to view but there are lots of vantage points.
