Hi! Miles now lives in Greenville, he was born in Houston.
Giraffes resident in Houston now
Tyra adult female, mother of femalecalf Mara
Assali adult female, mother of female calf Zindzhi and female calf Gigi
Joshua, born at Virginia Zoo is now the only male.
Kamili both parents passed on.
There were besides Miles other males in Houston, Baridi and Mtembei.
Mtembe was father to all the present female calves. He passed awaynafter a bad fall in the barn. He was a gorgeous bull and Miles looks more like him every day.

Who's the father of the new babies?
I believe they are Mtembis Calves.
Ghubari was moved to another facility. Houston never discloses where they move animals.

Hi. First, just found out that Zindzhi and Mara were moved to San Diego only days ago.
About the males from Houston who are in private hands.
Bright’s Zoo has a little giraffe calf named Alf. Very cute little guy who had to be hand - raised. Originally they were going to send h to a ranch in Texas which apparently raises some animals for hunting.
People were concerned. Bright’s Zoo had such overwhelming negative reaction that the place decided to back out of the deal. There was a photo with Hasani and Ghubari in it.
I will have to wade through some stuff to find out. Right now I’m exhausted.

Okay, will thank you for the information! I like exploring things like this, but when I tried to find out more about Hasani and Ghubari I came to a dead-end. Also San Diego Zoo or Safari Park?

That makes me sick that zoo animals can be sent to hunting preserves. I'm not against hunting but I am against that kind of hunting.
Is there an obstacle to the establishment of more bachelor herds?
To be honest I don’t knoe if it was the Safari Park or the Zoo.
Because the SDhas Masai giraffe, I assumed they were placed there.
I think there aren’t enough facilities who can afford giraffe.
This is just my opinion. I can’t back it up one way or the other.
I know it is a lot harder to find a good placement for a male giraffe.
