Paignton Zoo Matadi.

Matadi is such a lovely Gorilla, confident and full of fun,he has mixed so well with the others .Firstly with N'dowe they walked around hand in hand then Kiondu was introduced and that went well.Last but not least Kivu they all got on really well and were in the show enclosure all week. Today Pertinax was introduced to Matadi and that went really well so now all five of them are in together. Only Kumbuka to go he as yet has not been introduced to N'dowe and now Matadi so that should be intresting. It is funny to watch the difference between Group and hand reared behaviour, today N'dowe was doing his break dancing and Matadi was looking at him like 'have you lost the plot?

Just for those who don't know. He/she is on about Matidi the new gorilla from Twycross being introduced to the exisiting group at Paignton.

Very pleased to hear its gone so well. Probably because Matadi was mother -raised so is a 'Gorilla's gorilla' and gets along fine with others. I had thought he might be frightened of Pertinax after his experience at Twycross with their new male, but he has probably noticed that the others aren't particularly scared of Pertinax and will take his cue from them.
