A long time ago a young male orangutan was sent from chester to Madrid zoo. Her name was Pundu ..

Dose anyone have any information on her?

how she is ?

who she is with ?

According to ISIS, there's only one male hybrid orangutan at Madrid zoo. So, he could be Matu.

I will try to ask to a friend that lives at Madrid if he know something about Matu.
 
Sorry Aim but,according ISIS, in Madrid Zoo are 1.0 Pongo pygmaeus (Hybrid); 1.1 Pongo pygmaeus pygmaeus;1.0 Pongo pygmaeus pygmaeus (Hybrid)

For now, I found information about the Madrid Zoo orangutans. In 2005 there was built a new orangutan exhibit for 2 individuals. One of them, Tom, came from Appendhul Zoo (Holland) and the other one, Dahi, from the Dvru Kralove Zoo (Czech Rep.)

Any breeding since for this pair? I assume both pure-bred Borneans as both zoos keep only this species?

PUNDU

still from chester sorry about the mistake ....
 
Pundu still lives there. She should breed with Dahi (11 years) from Dvur Kralove. In Madrid there are 2,0 hybrids, too. But the two can't breed.
