Hi Folks.

Back to my first interest.. Can anyone tell me if there's been any developments yet on swapping Rigo for Motaba in the gorilla breeding group?

And have the two Adelaide females left for their new homes in Europe yet?Cheers.

I'm ging to Melbourne Zoo this year and was wondering if you could help me, as I would like to be able to identify the individual gorillas. I know which one Rigo is and also I think G-Anne (Is she the one with a hand missing?) What are the distinguishing features of the other females?
Thanks

If you go past the gorilla enclosure there's a 'hut' that is now permanently open. There are photos of all the gorillas with their names inside this hut.

There is also a 'photo album' with A4 sized photos along with DOB's, descriptions and the habits and idiosyncrasies of the individuals animals. This album is locked in a chest....if there's a volunteer guide in the hut they will show you the album.

The photos will help but the album has additionals info on all the individuals.

Pertinax, You have probabley found out in other thread that Motaba and Rigo are now swapped but I thought that I'd say it here anyway.

Sorry but do you mean they have been swapped back again- or is Rigo still with the main group?

Sorry Rigo is still with the females...That's why I said you probably already knew.

current update?

I'm still trying to find out what the current situation is- I'm presuming that Rigo is still not mating with the females. If that's the case, anyone know what the current plan is regarding further breeding?
