Melbourne teenager eaten alive at beach!!

Just out of interest, has this made international news? It's been pretty big here but I live in Melbourne and have been to this beach many times.
 
I've seen it on Facebook quite a lot, but not on any 'proper' news sources.
 
a quick look online shows it in several UK newspapers (the online versions obviously, but presumably also the paper versions) such as the Telegraph, the Sun, the Daily Mail; and also in some Asian papers, as well as lots of NZ and Australian papers.
