Chester Zoo Member Day 25th April 2009

I will be going. I'll be in the zoo dead on 10am to catch the bird keeper by Europe on the Edge.
 
were aiming to be there just after 10 were taking a few family membes with us do you think the other gate will be open as its members day?- the one which school parties usually use.
 
Not sure yet, thinking of going but if I don't can someone get to the Ape keepers and find out whats going on with the Bornean Oranguatans?

Is there any breeding?
Has one of the males died?

Also maybe find out (confirm) which male Okapi is moving up from Marwell for 6 months breeding loan.

I think someone has already mentioned this Okapi's name in another thread? Will have a quick browse now...

Yes in Okapi's in Europe general, but was not certain. Am hoping Chester will actually know for sure now which male is coming.

Black-star mention that they had heard Shomari was the male to move up for 6 months, but was not certain.
 
If we go, it'll be to stalk... err... politely question the bird keepers since that's our area of interest.
 
:eek:Just got back from the zoo. Asoka was doing lots of vocalising today as if there was something wrong or warning something away not quite sure what it was. Did see them being given brown paper bags with something inside. Saw five of the giraffe today all of them were enjoying the sunshine. All of the chimps were being as vocal as ever lots of banging and screaming including Boris running over and kicking the glass right in front of me twice which made me jump :eek:
