The Montana Facility is called "Triple D Game Farm Inc."
 
It was released on Facebook and Instagram that the zoo received 2 ostriches, Toothpick and Drumstick, from a facility in New Jersey. They will be in the bongo and red river hog exhibit in the African Veldt. This is a reintroduction of ostriches back to the zoo since the zoos last ostrich passed away a few years ago.

On August 2nd, the zoo announced the wolves' names, Atlas, Blaze, Cash, and Dottie.

On August 20th, the zoo announced they acquired a (1.0) black-and-white ruffed lemur named Sorabe from the Topeka Zoo in Kansas and is now on exhibit.

Someone did the impossible and snuck into our zoo! Meet Sorabe, the newest addition to our lemur family! He’s 21 years old and comes from @topekazoo! He’s most distinguishable by his tail which is much longer than some of our other lemurs. It actually says they are looking to potentially replace both the aquarium and tropical bird house with a new immersive exhibit. On the one hand I'm pleased to hear they want to revamp those two buildings, as they're both outdated IMO; on the other hand, I hope they don't lose too much of their sizable bird collection in the process. Maybe it could be an indoor tropical exhibit, with free-flying birds and fish tanks?

The two buildings aren't really too close to each other though, so there might be room for another new exhibit?

They aren't, but the three exhibits between them (penguins, pelican pool, and Round Barn) are all older exhibits too - so they might looking at taking those out along with the ones mentioned. The direct quote from the president and CEO was "We are looking at replacing the tropical birdhouse and aquarium with a state-of-the-art, immersive exhibit that would anchor the west end of the zoo" which sounds to me like one large complex. No way to know for sure until a master plan is released, of course.

A four-to-five-acre development would really be something, the zoo hasn't had much new since Zambezi River Hippo Camp in 2016.

Maybe they could turn the aquarium, penguins, and pelicans into a larger aquarium. They would move the some of the African animals from the Round Barn to the newly renovated African section.
 
Does anyone know what happened to red-slender loris?? It's off-display, but it can't be due to age because they had a baby in 2015, so it should be 8 years old by now, and the average slender loris lives up to over 20 year

There were three the summer of last year. Two were kept off-exhibit. I don't know about now, though.

I mentioned this in one of my posts in the thread earlier but the red pandas have moved into the former giant panda exhibit. An update is that the outdoor area where the pandas had outdoor access behind the langurs has mostly been cleared of the red panda's former inhabitants. I assume their outdoor access will be the giant pandas' outdoor yard but no signage has been put down or said to the public.
 
It was announced today on instagram and fscebook that an African black footed penguin hatched on October 22nd.

Possibly. I went last weekend and Ya Ya's dayroom looked uninhabited and all the views for it were covered over. All the red pandas were in Le Le's room when I went.

No word has been said about the both red and giant pandas outdoor areas in the China exhibit. All the man made structures have been taken down in the former red panda exhibit that is next to the Francois Langur exhibit.

The birth of a colobus monkey was announced.

Memphis Zoo on Instagram: "Memphis Zoo is elated to announce the birth of Rigby the Colobus monkey! Rigby’s mom is Abana (4) and his dad is Dr. Rajesh Koothrappali (8) and this is the pair’s first offspring together! Colobus mothers carry their babies continuously for the first few weeks which can be difficult for a first-time mother to manage, but Abana and Rigby figured logistics out quickly. As his confidence grows, he will start exploring close to his mother, then begin to venture out to explore more of his home. We cannot wait to watch Rigby grow at Memphis Zoo! Colobus monkeys are native to Africa where their greatest threat is habitat loss due to deforestation. These striking primates are characterized by their unique appearance, with long, black, and white fur and a distinct lack of thumbs. Baby colobus monkeys are born all white, so it is easier for the troop to spot them in a group setting."
