Edinburgh Zoo Mercedes Replacement

I'm very curious and excited to see what it will be like, especially as it seems like they are making a real effort and not just sticking them in the old enclosure with some minor adjustments.

Hi Bongo was also at the zoo today and saw the crane and moving in the trees and a few logs to the enclosure great to see how it turns out.

Didn't want to start a new thread here but interesting behaviour in the sea eagles alot of calling and figiting about with sticks!

I noticed today there were drawings of some of the interesting feeding devices being installed. A 'tree' type thing which, when shaken, will drop food to the ground and a slightly longer than arm length hole in the ground to get the bears stretching, just as they would reach into holes in the ground and trees in the wild. These guys are going to have to work for their food, total stimulation!

I am interested to lnow what is going into the south east Asia aviaries that will accompany the new sun bear enclosure, i am quite sure the argus pheasant pair will be one species.

Was at the zoo today and somebody mentioned Hornbills!

Are hornbills found in the same region as the sun bear i hope a small cat species or reptile species will be attached on to the main enclosure to tie in with the theme heres hoping!
