Mike vs Congo

So - I have to ask - is the '12' in your user name your age?

:p

When you were 12?

So how old are you?

Going by the post a little way up....

I planned it since March (my birthday) but kept it secret

... I would assume that by "almost 14" he means "I have been 13 for four months"

So when he registered in February he *was* 12.

I like the gladiatorial implication of the thread title - watch out Congo, Mikezoo is going to take you on!

No my parents gave it to me as an early birthday gift I turn 14 on August 14. I became a member when I was 13 and read post when I was 12.

I'm sorry, but I have a hard time believing that your parents just "gave" you 6+ weeks in Africa at the age of 14, especially when school is starting in a few weeks. Color me skeptical.

Hi Mike,
Your travel plans sound really exciting. Even if it isn't within the next few days, it looks like an amazing trip. I've been lucky enough to have a few big trips myself, and I find that planning them carefully is very important to me, and can be exciting in itself. Don't forget that you will hopefully have many opportunities to travel during your life, so don't feel pressured to squeeze too much in now.
I want to reassure you that your input is welcomed on the site. Reasoned and thoughtful posts are most appreciated. The reason you might find that some of the posts in this thread are quite strong is that you have insisted on some ideas, and some members want to encourage you to be open and honest with us.
It's easy to get carried away with our plans and imaginations, and many of us have been wrong in insisting on things in the forum previously. Don't worry if your trip isn't quite yet, and has to wait a while (most of mine do). Don't be afraid of being open and honest - you'll make friends on here like that; and don't be disheartened by comments from others standing their ground. :)

Sorry

:( My sister when I was recovering from my broken leg finally confessed that she made this thread and most of all I had no idea this thread was made. She wanted to joke around and make people think I was really doing this:(
I sincerely apologize.Praise The Lord that I read Thylo telling me she could've gotten me banned.

well that was silly of your sister. But never mind, what's done is done. It might be fun if you used this thread to have an imaginary safari anyway.
