Million hectares of threatened species' habitat cleared without assessments

Don't worry (actually, more reason to worry), it's not just Australia. From the news I've been hearing this seems to be a trend in several countries. In my own country, there has been news of many new projects cleared with very little assessment put into them, yet our lousy news reporters are too stuck up about Covid and politics and other useless stuff to report about it. I have also found articles on zoochat complaining about new laws in the US and Brazil I believe (correct me if I'm wrong). This is starting to look like a trend. :(
