Thanks to a new partnership with Service Systems Associates, additional jobs, more revenue, and even improvements to some of the amendity areas are coming. One of these additions is "Bear Garden," which will open with the second entry complex.

Wait, there actually going to do something about this? It about time, i'm glad some progress is finally being made.

Some updates from Milwaukee Man's most recent zoo visit.
The red panda exhibit renovation has been completed. A large overhead screen has been added and the exhibit has been extended back.
The tiger cubs are now exploring the great outdoors.
Boris the brown bear has awoken from hibernation and is rotating with the black bears.
Progress on Adventure Africa has been... Not much. The grass has grown in obviously, but no new structures or landscaping have been added.
And on a sadder note, both the kangaroos and emu have left the zoo. Their exhibit remains empty until it is destroyed for the new forest ungulate yard. However, the tree kangaroos still remain, but not for long.

I was taken aback about how fast they obtained a duiker! I didn't think they would receive one until Adventure Africa opened next year. I'm also interested if the gazelles will be moving to Adventure Africa as well, but I guess only time will tell.Here's some more about the new duiker

Went today on a nice day, and there were three Thomson gazelle on exhibit! They were peacefully laying down with the impala. Nice to see and animal I've never seen before!
The yellow-backed duiker was not out on my visit! Which was a bit disappointing, but I'm sure I'll see it soon!

Went today, first time since February. Overall I had a good time, animals were out even in the extreme heat we are having for June. The zoo was much more ready to see the large crowds, and things seemed a bit more taken care of then they were in February. Although the absence of the polar bear and I didn't see the new duikers on my visit.
As for construction updates around the zoo, there's been little to no movement on the Adventure Africa phase I since my last visited. The west entrance had some work being done, still in heavy construction phase.
Finally invested in a zoo pass so here's to more adventures this summer.

I returned to my summer job at the zoo today and have a few updates.
-The duiker and Thomson's gazelles seem to be doing very well in their new homes, however, the duiker is afraid of the tortoises that share the exhibit, so they will likely rotate or possibly get introduced over time.
-There was a Zoo Pride member on Animal Watch at the outdoor malayan tapir exhibit, so its likely that our tapir, Maggie, will finally have full excess to the entire outdoor yard again.
-The west entrance and otter exhibit are taking shape little by little.
-Some bad news about the elephant exhibit: due to reasons that I'm not 100% sure are information for the public, chances of any progress being made on the exhibit before September are very very slim
-Ronji, the zoo's male tree kangaroo has arrived at the Riverbanks Zoo in South Carolina. The female, Tia, will join him later this year. I do not know yet where the joey, Cori, will be going when he leaves.

Basically, a shortage of funds, so they're making some changes to the exhibit plans.
