Recent trip to the zoo and I am pleasantly surprised to see that they are updating and gearing up for the summer season. Just some quick updates.
* Animal hospital is now open again
* Looks like we are getting closer to seeing what's going to be going in the former milk frog exhibit
* It looks like there was a baby born, prehensile tail porcupine
* The former prairie dog exhibit has had trees removed and some minor renovations
* The wall that was put up surrounding the former dall sheep is now down, and it looks like they are cleaning the exhibit up
* The Trumpeter Swans "Boo" and "Ghost" have now moved into the last exhibit on the former rhinos side. Not sure what once was there, anyone know? The exhibit is similar to the hippo but other side.
* The former Malayan tapir outdoor space looks to have a new sign installed, possibly pointing to a new animal coming in temporarily.
Overall, after visiting this most recent visit, I noticed the there are a lot more signs and roped off areas (which in my opinion makes the zoo feel less confusing). The zoo is communicating with the general public on what is happening and why things may be closed off or why an animal(s) maybe off exhibit. I am really curious to see what's going to be happening at the zoo this year as we inch closer to a year under a new director and what he does to create a vision for the zoo.
