Miniature Animal Figure Collection

I passed near a toy shop where I bought other times. Incluenced by the positive feedback for this figure given at the animal toy blog ( Minke Whale (Sealife by CollectA) ), especially about the presence of ear holes and the two bulges in throat, and after knowing how small can be these whales in real life (about a quarter of the lenght of a blue whale), I decided to purchase the minke whale (Balaenoptera acutorostrata) by CollectA.

It's as magnific as the blog review says. Every detail in sculpt is exquisite.

For now I only have two baleen whales. They scale more or less well with each other, overall if we count the minke whale as one of the largest individuals and the bowhead whale as a somewhat young one.

But... beware, there are whale killers in the ocean, and not only those in ships...! Minke whale have same approximate size than orca so they fit well with Collecta killer whale.

The other figure I bought in the shop is the nilghai (Boselaphus tragocamelus) by CollectA.
index.php

Sizewise, it fits very well with the larger Indian ungulates done by major brands, such as gaurs, rhinos or this buffalo:

Of course, I must present it with its closest living relative, the four-horned antelope:

The nilghai is unaware of the danger behind it...

I got CollectA's Minke a few months ago and I agree it is fantastically done! Easily one of the best if not the best baleen whales I have. :)

That Tibetian fox is great, although tbh the face and color could use a rework.

Why????

Most foxes don't have eyes looking away from each other in the first place, no matter the goofiness of their faces

Have you seen images of tibetan fox??? It's an exact copy of this model.

I guess it's just a bad paint job but it's still the only Tibetan Fox figure in existence to my knowledge.

No, the paintjob is absolutely accurate too.

That tibetan fox, from Natural Histoy brand (roughly traslated of Chinese) and "Naturally Adorable" series, is, in fact, the only one of your new additions that I have. The only issue with this figure is that compared with most of my animals is as big as a wolf, however I have other overgrown foxes too (fennec by CollectA and the not very great arctic fox by Safari), and all together match very well. Being my very very most favourite fox species (and I knew it thanks to Zoochat, as explained in this same tread long time ago), I absolutely love this model, that is indeed unique as species in figure form.

From all your other additions I probably only would pick up the Kaiyodo tamandua (pied version). For sure is smaller than the recently retired Mojo Fun tamandua, that I've rejected due to its size. The Play Visions aquatic genet also always caught my attention, tough probably it needs a slight repaint. It's curious that I knew this species thanks to this figure! The Eikoh slow loris also is a figure I like, but I thanks to your images now I know it's size and I will delete now from my wishlist as is too big. Maybe I can get the racoon dog, but there are finest examples of this species with various Kaiyodo models, the shame with Kaiyodo are the seams...

Edit: I've searched and the Kaiyodo tamandua also have very visible seams in the neck and base of tail, so I will let it pass

So I've managed to dig out my old figures from the attic - schleich, unbranded, playmobile, and some figures from the 90's.

I'll get some photos posted in the next few days (hopefully) - some of them are in need of a clean... and I need another trip into the attic, as a couple are missing

A new batch of figures that arrived just before Christmas! Really happy with the equids and the leopard in particular.

The tortoises are really nice!

CollectA is just a very reliable company when it comes to accurate animals in general, I don't think I've seen a single one of their new sculpts that I've disliked

Finally getting around to another update, and a two-for-one at that! First one like my normal ones and the second one a little more special.
Some of these I got many months ago but finally got the photos taken! :p

This second set is all hand sculpted and hand painted by yours truly. :)
Several of these are a little rough, but for a start I'm generally pretty happy with them, and looking forward to doing more!
