I hope you had a great time at the zoo! What was your general impression of the zoo & it's current state? I also have a couple minor updates/corrections.

1. Temmink's Tragopan, Fawn-Breasted Bowerbird, Red-Vented Bulbul, and Mountain Bamboo Fruit Dove have all been phased out, while Scarlet-Faced Licholia and Pink Headed Fruit Dove have been added recently. Afaik there should still be Cotton Pygmy Geese, although it's been a while since I've seen them.

2. There is a Southern Three-Banded Armadillo in the Sloth exhibit

3. The Giant Gourami tank also has Moseman's Rainbowfish and and unidentified catfish species

4. The last Kemp's Ridley Sea Turtle passed away recently

5. The mussel cabin also displays Plain Pocketbook, and Lake Floater Mussels.

6. The zoo no longer has woodland Caribou, just domestic Reindeer. The last one unfortunately passed away last year.

7. The South American Aviary on the Tropics Trail also displays Laysan Teals

8. The Yellow-Bellied Slider should be a Western Painted Turtle if I'm not mistaken.

9. The unsigned fish in the nursery tank are: Japan Surgeonfish, Double-Saddle Butterflyfish, Latticed Butterflyfish, Bangai Cardinalfish, Ocellaris Clownfish, Redtoothed Triggerfish, and Spotted Sharpnose Puffer

10. The Garden Eel tank should still have Splendid Garden Eel, Purple Firefish, Golden Specs Jawfish, and Banded Coral Shrimp.

11. The Seahorse tank should still have Blue-Legged Hermit Crabs

12. The Sea Dragon tank still has Leafy Sea Dragons and Bat Stars, they're just really hard to spot ;). Eastern Hulafish are also signed, but I've never actually seen them, so who knows if they're still around.

12. The Shrimp Tank contained a pair of Ocellaris Clownfish when I was there last Friday, but they'd be pretty hard to miss so i would assume they are no longer there.

13. There is a series of ambassador exhibits that are viewable at the entrance to the Treetop Trail that, as of a month ago, had a North American Porcupine and (maybe) a Virginia Opossum.

14. The Bird Show also contains:Harpy Eagle, Harris Hawk, Sulfur-crested Cockatoo, Yellow-naped Amazon, Yellow-headed Amazon, Military Macaw, Great Green Macaw, Blue-throated Macaw, Green-winged Macaw, and Red-legged Seriema

15. The zoo also has an animal Ambassador show that contains: Red-Lored Amazon, Southern Tamandua, Golden Conure, Striped Skunk, Western Hognose Snake, Burrowing Owl, African Grey Parrot, and African Giant Millipede

Thanks for this. Are the sea otter pups they received last year, Nuka and Denali, on exhibit? Along with the older males Capers, Jasper, and Rocky, there should be five otters. It's been months since Minnesota Zoo posted a pupdate on social media, so I hope they're okay.

Minnesota Zoo on Instagram: "We’re not crying, you’re crying. ❤️ Denali and Nuka now have full day access to their public habitat. Their dedicated team of animal care and animal health staff have gone above and beyond while getting them ready for this big step. We couldn’t be more proud of our staff and the girls. Great job, everyone. . . . #SeaOtters #MNZoo #Otters"

1. Now that you mention it I do recall seeing Pink-headed Fruit Dove, it didn't quite register to me what it was. I remember the days when this signage was accurate, very annoying it isn't anymore. I was honestly really surprised by how few birds I saw in here.

2. I don't recall seeing it or signage for it, maybe I just missed it.

6. That's really a shame. :( But noted.

10. If it did, they were unsigned and hiding well.

13. I saw those enclosure but as they were unsigned I didn't even realize they were inhabited.

Minnesota is very far from its glory days I remember as a child, but I am happy to see far fewer empty enclosures then last time I visited. I hope it's able to stay on this upward trajectory.

Llama Trek is stupid (this was my first time seeing it). Would it really have killed them to add like a rhea or something?
