Okapolis is unironically an amazing name. It sounds like a Sharknado style so-bad-it's-fantastic monster movie about an invasion of killer okapis. I'd watch that.Just heard an Okapi called a pygmy zebra.
And an Okapolis!
Edinburgh Zoo received its Weddell seal from Christian Salvesen in 1914. At the same time, and from the same source, the zoo also acquired two elephant seals, four king penguins, a gentoo penguin and a macaroni penguin.According to ZTL, Weddell seals have been kept at Antwerp, Edinburgh and Hamburg
I doubt most people have even heard of a bushbaby.Another one which I suspect might be common. Any large eyed nocturnal mammal that can climb is a bushbaby.
Demonstrated on a recent visit where a couple were wondering why the baby bushbabies were kept apart from the adults. The two enclosures held gray mouse lemurs and slender loris respectively.
I assume this has been said, but at my local zoo, people constantly confuse African Wild Dogs with Hyenas. There is even a sign that says, “we are not hyenas”, but that doesn’t stop anyone
Someone thought a bamboo shark was a lizard
It just got worse. I work as an educator for my local aquarium, and at least two pepole at first mistook them for aligators. How does that happen? Just because they are not your average Requiem or Mackarel doesn't mean they are a lizard!

This is actually quite understandable.2. Tawny frogmouth - owl
I agree I used to think the same thing, but they aren't closely related at all. I think I was more disappointed they didn't read the sign, less than them calling it an owl. This is actually quite understandable.
4. Cheetah - tiger
You might want to lower your expectations because it was someone’s mom who made this mistake!I would expect even a child to get that one right. Those are the classic ABC animals!
