Mixed species exhibit ideas

Would Javan Rhinoceros Hornbill (1,0) , Java Hill Myna (1,1), Javan Green Magpie
(1,1) and Javanese Green Peafowl (1,3) work?
The Java Hill Mynas, Javan Green Magpies and Javanese Green Peafowls shouldn’t breed (at least not in the aviary).
The rhinoceros hornbill can get stressed and agrgesive without a mate. Mynas can bully the quieter species during feeding. Hornbills might get harassed by magpies. It could work though

Would it be possible to mix howler monkeys with black-handed spider monkeys? I looked into a lot of New World monkey mixes but never found these two together.

Has anyone seen or heard of indian gharials being kept with waterfowl in a mixed exhibit? Do you think that's a workable setup?

Would a mix with lion-tailed macaques and Sumatran orangutans on a big enough island with lots of climbing structures work?

It would work with false gharials (only eat fish) but Indian gharials are opportunistic predators

It wouldn't work. Orangutans can be aggressive if they feel threatened which could lead to injuries. The macaques are sometimes territorial. They could compete for food and there are disease risks along with chronic stress. I would mix Orangutan & gibbons and the macaques & langurs.

I think you've got that turned around. The Indian gharial's slender snout is built specifically for only catching fish. Although it can attack other animals if threatened, it won't hunt them. Tomistomas, on the other hand, regularly eat macaques, waterfowl, deer and other larger animals.

They won't eat much other than fish, but that doesn't mean they won't nip. They're kept with duck-sized turtles often, but turtles have armour while ducks are quite fragile. I don't think the Gharials will actively go after the ducks, personally. But there's a good chance they'll startle each other at some point, which can easily end up with a dead duck.

I've seen Lesser kestrels kept with Superb starlings, could a similar mix work with Lesser kestrel and Island canary?

Maybe a very old one? Otherwise I can't explain how it works

They're pretty active and they've been there since 2021, I don't know what would be considered "old" for a kestrel though. They were also kept with Blue magpies and I think hoopoes in GaiaZOO before moving to artis in 2021
