hi guys i'm a 21 year old man in manchester uk and i want to be a conservionist.

i was wondering what you do to become one of these i've heard about placements in animal conservation areas for students who would pay money for thier travel then get accomodation and food included in a lump fee but how would i become a proffessional?

i assume this requires education, i work voluntarily at te harperhey dogs kennels as a handler so i have some experience but i'm ondering what specifically would i need tto study if i went back to college?

the course i intend to do is an access course in allied nursing and health proffessions which is a re itnorduction into tertiary education involving modules in biology, chemistry, psychology, maths english and possibly more subjects but theres other courses available like equine animal care.

what would make me more considerable in the field and how would i do it?

i have the timescale of like 5-10 years of training and growth as theres other stuff i want to do too.

i intend to carry on with my current job as an accountant in a gay and lesbian charity organisation, do a night course in a scientific conservation associated subject to an apropriate standard, learn a foriegn langauge, possible join the army and get through training as a vetinary assistant and then become a conservationist or zoo keeper with maybe a few holidays to a sanctuary each year.

anyone have any suggestions as to what to do??

And if there are any volunteer situations at Chester Zoo that experience might help, especially with Mark Pilgrim or someone involved in their Conservation work.
