Hi

I visited an animal cafe operated by MOFF Inc. earlier this month to see the Red-legged Seriema (Cariama cristata), an extremely rare bird in Asia.

Name: Moff animal cafe Lalaport Aichi Togo (Moff animal cafe ららぽーと愛知東郷店)
Location: Aichi, Japan
Website: 愛知 | 東郷|動物カフェ|Moff animal cafe ららぽーと愛知東郷店
Visit Date: March 5, 2025
Ticket Price: JPY 1450 (Adults) + Mandatory drink JPY 380
Animal Feeding / Activities: Bird feeding available around the zoo
Food: Free drink refills available for every visitor

MOFF operates animal cafés and interactive animal facilities across Japan. In addition to cat and owl cafés, they display and care for exotic animals rarely seen elsewhere in Japan, such as the Brazilian porcupine (Coendou prehensilis).

MOFF’s facilities are clean and seem to be well-maintained, however, as most locations are indoors with limited space, challenges remain in ensuring optimal animal welfare, such as providing enough exercise areas and natural light.

MOFF also runs public-oriented facilities like Kawasaki Aquarium (Kawasui) and Kasumigaura Doubutsu to Minna no Ie. Kawasaki Aquarium is an urban freshwater aquarium with advanced exhibition technology, while Kasumigaura Doubutsu to Minna no Ie provides hands-on learning about nature and biodiversity. Additionally, MOFF operates a unique school that combines aquarium training with online high school education, allowing students to gain hands-on experience while earning a diploma.

Please feel free to leave any opinions or comments.

These posts about least known places are very fascinating.

How many Chilean flamingos do they keep and do you have some pic of their enclosure?
Thanks! They have two Chilean Flamingos, and they are free roaming in the zoo along with Capybaras, Seriema, Toucans etc. They even allow visitors to hand feed them!
