I think this group was imported from Edinburgh.
I think that the original pair where (and maybe one offspring?) but the rest were born at Mogo.
A new species for Mogo
Have restrictions on exotic reptiles and amphibians been somewhat relaxed?
The restrictions (actually an almost total prohibition) are on private holders, not zoos as such.
I think radiated tortoises were only added to Australia's live import list last year

Very cool, but I wonder why they were added? They are listed as a phase-out species in the '09 census. I get that they are critically endangered, so good from that point of view, and would certainly complement the regions many 'Madagascan' (read lemur) exhibits. Will these animals be added to such an exhibit or stuck in a reptile house? I assume they are young animals, so a reptile house might be more suitable? And maybe safer too.
Very cool about the poison arrow frogs too, are these coming from overseas? Will this be a new species?

it won't let me cut-and-paste the article but it says they came from the Kadoorie Farm And Botanic Garden which received them from an Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department confiscation in 2010. They have been sent to Mogo to "join a conservation breeding programme"
I just had a look on Mogo's Facebook page and it says the tortoises are between 5 and 22 years old.

do you know which species? They already have a couple of species at the zoo don't they?
just had a look. That's a dyeing poison arrow frog (tinctorius) and its the same picture from their website. I wonder if they are getting more tinctorius or if they are getting an additional species and just using the old photo for want of something more applicable?
