the stumpies were all fairly old boys on arrival at the park and they have a had a wonderful retirement at monkey world

there are only eight stump tailed macaques now. they all live down by the siamang gibbons in the old capuchin house.

No they are not, none of two groups are anywhere near the siamang gibbons. I have already pointed out where they are as I visited just a few weeks ago.

Wow that's telling them! Except they moved in the middle of April to where Gigit correctly says they are.

one of the enclosures is occupied by one group of female capuchins. the other is empty. when i was there on friday, there was work being carried out on the enclosure.

Thats some quick moving seeing as I was there a few weeks back, sorry for the mistake im just suprised Monkey World has moved them so quickly!

yes, there are seven left, sadly tim has just passed away.
Scott,Sam,David,Gerald,Phil,Paddy and Jonathan all live togtrther by the siamangs. Also on the subject of the siamangs, sage also just passed away following a heart attack

He's not on his own, he's with Sam his father but I do wonder what will happen when one of them dies.

don't worry, onion still lives with his dad sam. both have had the snip so that the family could stay together.

Its a shame Onion got the snip, as he couldn't move and find a mate as they would do in the wild. It's nice for Sam and Onion have eachother though, it must be beneficial to them to have another family member around when one dies

visited monkey world this weekend , Sam and onion were absolutely fine , and could be heard singing all over the park Sunday morning , sounded amazing

Good that there's still Sam to keep Onion company :)

I went onto wiki to get the MW web link, thought that wasn't (isn't still?) working, and scanned the bit about the siamangs, since someone seems to keep it updated. It didn't mention Sam (and I couldn't check the site), hence why I thought poor Onion was alone. Food for thought though, since if Sam does go, they'll have to find someplace or someone for him.

i'm the one who edits wilki because i visit regularly and i keep uptodate on events. But i didnt change sam

News

Hi, I'm new to this forum and I love zoos, but I have some good news. (Don't know if you already know it)

Hsiao-Quai is pregnant!!!!

And the dad is probably Gordon!!!! (She's been living with him recently):):)

That's good news (Hsiao-Quai is Kais mother for those who don't know) Seeing as she did a good job last time it should all go to plan this time.
