Monkey World Ape Rescue Centre Monkey World news

Not exactly what this thread is for but does anyone know where I can stream all 9 seasons of monkey business 1999-2008 for free as I can’t find it anywhere,
Thanks

I think the groups don’t really have normal hierarchies because of their group structures being unusual (very similar in age, no parent/grandparent relationships) and their lack of experience of a normal hierarchy due to being taken as babies. Johni is a very dominant female in Hananya’s group and Ash in Bryan’s. Mickie and Busta never seem to have ambitions and although Gamba is ambitious he annoys too many females to get the support. In summer a PCS said the males are not really brilliant alphas.

I also echo this comment , the old series are quite hard to find. I did have some old videos of monkey business but I must of gotten rid of them as I no longer have a video player. Anyone have any ideas of where to watch the old series?

On 15 November, Monkey World welcomed a female infant Bornean Orangutan from Rio Safari Elche named Kiwi after her mother rejected her. She will be hand-reared alongside fellow new orangutan Sibu Junior until they both can live in the Orangutan Nursery fulltime.

Does anyone know who Kiwi’s parents are?

Is the chimp nursery still in use ?
The chimp nursery evolved into an adult group, because there were no more babies to join the group. In its latter years the babies were nearly all birth control failure accidents from within Monkey World, Bryan was the last infant rescue chimp (all the others since have been adults or sub adults). After Ash and Rodders there was another birth control failure in Hananya's group but Thelma was raised by her mother.

Bryan's group is now a sort of 'special needs' group, with some of the group having physical disabilities (Lulu and new rescue Chocolat ) or other issues. Bryan has episodes of distress which appear unexpectedly, I've heard it likened to human PTSD; Rodders never properly grew up: a member of primate care staff said this is because he was castrated when he was too young, the same was true for Seamus.

Presumably if they needed somewhere for a baby chimp to go they would either have to create a separate group or subgroup or it would have to go to another rescue or a zoo (is there a chimp equivalent of the European orang nursery that MW runs?).

I have been watching Monkey Life series 17 and one of the episodes number 6 is when the team from Monkey World collected a female Saki Monkey Neevah and while at Combe Martin Wildlife Park they also wanted to have a look at Baboons and that is because Monkey World is getting 6 of their own very soon from Lebanon

According to Monkey Life, the baboons from Lebanon are not able to be moved yet due to the political situation in Lebanon.

On my visit in September 2024 the new enclosure at the far end of the park looked pretty much complete and ready for the baboons when they can be moved.

Where exactly is the new enclosure out of interest? I presume by far end you mean by the Capuchin House/large play ground?
