moody keepers

That's ridiculous. Reading the first paragraph, the person clearly doesn't agree with zoos so their view is biased anyway. I have always found keepers to be chatty and friendly, including those at chester. And anyway, it's a stressful job so they're allowed to be moody at times.

Have they ever thought that it might not have been a keeper but one of the over worked Education Staff, having to answer the same questions GOD only knows how mant times a day. Finally if it was a member of the Education team i wouldn`t say any of them were moody.

"Let's see
Are you biased? Fropm your first sentence you probably are as you seem to be anti zoo anyway. The keepers pick up on this very quickly and if you let them know while you are on work experience they are probably wondering why they have to put up with you.
secondly. Your friend screams at a zoo exhibit. Probably frightening the person there, so of course he is going to give you dirty looks, not to mention that he is probably worried aboout the efect on the bats that that the noise will have. "

POsted that comment on the blog, let's see how the person reacts to that.

Go Jay! I also agree what was said before, strees obviously gets in the way, and sometimes, you just don't have the need or time to say anything polite back to visitors, I've had encounters with a few moody keepers! But most of the time they seem very approachable and friendly,

in general I suspect that most keepers, so long as they aren't in a hurry to get somewhere, are quite happy to talk to people who are obviously interested in the zoo or the animals. But the idiot visitors tend to get rather short shrift (ie the probably-teenage ones who scream when in a bat cave). At least that's what I'm like :)

But what is an anti-zoo person doing working at a zoo anyway? Wierd.

I have a vague possible idea, next year we get to work at Healsville for New horizons program,, ahaha perhaps someone on something like that?? and there is no better option, ;)

I know more moody zoo visitors than moody keepers. And to be moody from time to time is everys human right in this world, no on eis perfect.Anyway, that job is very stressful and if I see, with what strange and crazy people the keeprs have to deal with, I don't want to exchange with them.

I've heard of some keepers that don't like people (which is understandable), only animals, but I haven't met any of them.

yeah, I think that they seem to connect with animals more so than people, being that the human race is such a complex species, espicially social wise, ;) but I think those people are awesome in their own way,

I haven't either, but I have a strong hunch it's only because we're discussing their favourite zoo animals when I do talk to them (and I don't think they mind that at all!) :) I'll try changing the topic next time though to see if I get a "grouchy" response :D

It looks like the author of the blog has taken that particular entry down.
