I too would rank Moonlit above Kyabram. Having visited Ballarat, I would also rank that above Kyabram but that’s just my personal opinion. Moonlit is widely known outside of Victoria, which I think speaks volumes. Outside of the main zoos, there’s not many that are known by the general public interstate or internationally.

Oh yeah, I forgot about Ballarat. But Moonlit would still be in my top 5 Victorian zoos.
Same here. Melbourne, Werribee, Healesville, Moonlit and Ballarat would be my top five (in no particular order). Then Halls Gap, Mansfield and Kyabram (again, in no particular order).

Moonlit's latest exhibit has opened for Black Kite and Peregrine Falcon - reported on social media.

I visited Moonlit Sanctuary today, thought I’d share a few updates.
Development for the Reptile House/Water Lab continues, the Freshwater Crocodile enclosure has been completed and crocodile is in the exhibit. It is very well done. There are plans for two venomous snake exhibits (I was told what they were planned to be couple years back but I’ll keep that a surprise), another exhibit in the left wall and two exhibits outside in the water lab section, one for Growling Grass Frogs and the other for Spotted Galaxias/Southern Pygmy Perch. Exciting times for the Moonlit Reptile House ahead.
Budgies have been added to the walk-in aviary, I personally think they make a really nice addition adding a bit of colour and movement to an already nice aviary.
Two former off display exhibits containing Black Kite and Peregrine Falcon have now been integrated into the visitor path, great to see more birds of prey on show.
The Lace Monitor’s are either off display or gone, signage has been taken away and the divider between it and the mixed reptile exhibit has been removed.

The "Reverse the Red" World Species Conference will be held online on the 15th of May (actual starting time is 2200GMT 14th May). The conference consists of dozens of 3 minute presentations on species conservation action from around the world and goes for 24 hours.

Moonlit have acquired their first ever venomous snake - a Northern Death Adder is now on-display - reported on their FB page.
Also reported on their FB, their Green Tree Frogs which were off display have moved into a new exhibit at the reptile house which I assume is the large exhibit in the left wall.
After many years of hard work, the Moonlit Sanctuary Reptile Centre has been officially unveiled, whilst part of it had been open for a couple years now, the entire centre now looks to have been filled with exhibits including a couple brand new species in Tiger Snake and Boyd’s Forest Dragon. I’m also assuming the ‘water lab’ outside has also been completed as the social media post mentions fish but I’ll visit again soon to confirm. Congratulations to all involved.
Specifically a Chappell Island Tiger Snake Notechis scutatus serventyi notably according to social media.

I know naught about what you refer. The naming of animals is solely a keeper thing, as long as it is not offensive, I don't care. As I have always said here the only thing important from a management view is the identifying number.Named Rhaenyra.
