More misinformation

I know I tend to make posts about zoo haters (I feel I’ve made more than one or two maybe, maybe not) but this got me. I’ll be honest I didn’t watch the video because I’m sure it’s just mostly if not completely misinformation. The comments are pretty bad too. Just blindly agreeing and ignoring actual facts. What will it take to get these people to see the truth? Anybody scared this will actually have an affect on zoos and laws regarding their existence?

This video so just dumb. It got so mad especially the elephant segment in North America we have had the eldest bull elephants in captivity with notable examples being Thailand at the Houston Zoo, Vance Casey and Charlie at the Center for Elephant Conservation, Rex and Sneezy in Oklahoma, and Indy Butch at Dickerson park Zoo, and the eldest female elephant's that were over 70 when the died. And what is the most stupid part of this video is ZOOS DO NOT I REPEAT TAKE ELEPHANTS FROM THE WILD ANY LONGER

That video seems to me to not be misinformation for the majority of it.
Zoochosis is a real thing and in current days occurs less than in the past, but it still exists.
The culling of surplus animals is a real thing. And I wish it wasn't. But zoos have to do it. There just is no place for all the animals and new animals keep getting born because of that they can't really regulate that. After all young animals also attract a crowd.
The number on how much money is actually spend on conservation is very sad to see though.

Why even link the video, or post this? Every click on the video gives them money and more views, encouraging them to make more.
The people of this site clicking on this video can add their input in the comments. With what we all on Zoochat know about zoos, we can easily correct misinformation in this video and spread actual facts, therefore educating other commenters. If this didn’t reach people like us, the majority of comments would be anti zoo, and the next viewers would be influenced by those comments. In short, us seeing this allows us to comment and provide education and correction rather than only people who agree with this video to comment and outnumber the few in favor of zoos that may comment.

People aren't getting educated in youtube comments, though. They're known for being filled with trolls; ARAs will treat anyone who disagrees with them as such.

Well, there are still a whole it of people who like zoos, so in certain cases I think it is best to let them be, after all ignorance is bliss :p (yeah right )

My fav thing was when they shared a photo of the indoor facility for the elephants at the National Zoo as if they didn't have outdoor space (especially since SNZ has one of the most up-to-date elephant exhibits in the country)

In a colder country, it would be atleast a good argument, but not in australia

Typical anti-zoo tree-hugging animal rights hippies spewing BS.

I've seen this video on my YouTube feed, and I could only watch a moment before exiting out the window simply because this man absolutely has no clue what he's talking about. As if misinformation on the internet is already enough to deal with as is.

I saw the comment section, and there were a couple comments defending zoos. Most of them were a whole load of stupidity. So many people falling for these tricks.
