Bushbuck, added to the collection in the African Plains, including some very beautiful youngsters.

Bushbuck? Do you mean blackbuck?

They would be the only zoo in the UK to exhibit bushbuck if they were bushbuck that you saw. There are no bushbuck even in Europe accOrding to ISIS.
Do you have any photos?

Thanks:D

photos

any help?

Aren't blackbuck found mainly in India?

apologies, my mistake. There's around 5 /6 in there, now that the addax have moved it fills the plains up some more

Sitatunga- I wonder if these came from the now closed Cricket st Thomas in Somerset as they had Sitatunga in similar numbers.

(Probably) visiting her tomorrow-its changed a lot even since August.

In another thread you mention agoutis/flamingoes in quarantine-are these visible to the public?
And do you know when the park closes as there website is a little unclear...

you can see the flamingo, they're just inside a holding pen right now, look for the new shed next to the duckpond. As long as they're not hiding from the cold inside the shed you'll get a decent look at them, there appears to be 6 in total. Unfortunately the Agouti aren't out yet.

Having looked again today i'm not sure if the new structure near the red river hogs is going to be a play area or a part of the new walkway, or even something else. Would be nice to find out. Seemed to be some clearing / building activity starting to the side of the wetland reserve (behind the camels) which would fit in with the recent plans being approved.

I think the last entry at this time of the year is around 3:30pm. There was only one set of lions out again today though, they seem to be rotating them at the moment.

Are the capybara & agouti (& other animals I can't remember) going over towards the birds of prey display area? They'd just built a new house over there last time I visited.

there is a new house over by the birds of prey, with what looks to be the beginnings of a pool / landscaped area beside it, though not much has happened to it over the last few weeks. I presume that's for the capybara's as i'd heard the agouti are going in to the woodland area near the river hogs.

The work in the woodland is a human enclosure!

The agouti, capybara and mara are going into a South American walkthrough area, past the birds of prey display field which will eventually contain squirrel monkeys also. There is a house and some wet holes at present.
