A shame, as this is a creature I'd love to see in captivity more often. This and as with Stoffel the honey badger's fame, show them to be very difficult to hold in captivity with their escape artist skills. I was shocked when San Diego opened their honey badger exhibit in Africa Rocks as a netted/wire enclosure, unless they were unaware of their escape artist skills. If a concrete pit couldn't hold stoffel in, how on Earth would netting be able to hold them!? I assume this is why they were officially phased out of the exhibit and replaced with fossas?
