Love the otter sculpture at Hogle zoo but the sense of movement conveyed in the otter scuptures at Pittsburgh zoo is very impressive.

Red river hog?

Yes, it could be a red river hog as it certainly has the long ears of one.

Have to say I don't think its the greatest portrayal of one though and definitely not beautiful because it looks to me more like some kind of ferocious species from the Miocene epoch or perhaps the werewolf from "American werewolf in London".

Yep, totally agree, I'm not sure they were meant to look quite as terrifying as they do and I suppose they were meant to be funny.
