Special Notice:
The Directors have decided to move away all our Exotic Species Conservation Programs that we have operated here for the past 25 years. These include the world-renowned Breeding and Recovery programs of the critically endangered Mhorr Gazelle, Addax Antelope and Scimitar Horned Gazelle, and not to forget Ivan, our Indian Rhinoceros. We are moving these Conservation Programs out of Mountain View during this spring and summer, and so this year will be your last opportunity to see these unique animals, most of whom were born here at the Mountain View Conservation and Breeding Centre.
Canadian Red-Listed Species
From 2010 on, we will be focusing entirely on local "Red-listed" wildlife species that are facing extinction, including our Northern Spotted Owls, Oregon Spotted Frogs, and Vancouver Island Marmots. Our visitor tours will include up to date information about these programs, and the latest news about conservation of wildlife and the environment, habitat conservation, and healthy ecosystems, in BC and Canada.
For the first time ever heaters have now been added to the giraffe barn:
