Mum puts theft behind her to welcome tiny twins
WHEN a thief snatched a family of critically endangered cotton-top tamarins from Symbio Wildlife Park in May last year, the park's director, John Radnidge, thought Bella would be too traumatised to ever breed again.
Although Bella, Mitu and their baby, Toro, were recovered by Wollongong detectives within 48 hours of the theft, Bella was pregnant at the time and was so shocked by the ordeal that she miscarried. Two breeding seasons went by with her unable to conceive.
