Anyone else out there a musician or play a musical instrument?
I play percussion, and am a member of the local brass band, some orchestras i know people from and occasionally small scale shows.

Just wondered.

I don't play an instrument, but I was a member of a concert choir for about 5 years. I'm also currently taking a music class so that I could start learning how to play the piano and guitar.

I actually have my undergrad in music composition, and my masters in music performance - and now i work at the zoo. Go figure.

That sounds great.
I can play a couple of instruments but I can't play any of them extremely well because I always get sick of one and will move on to another. I can play piano the best 'cos I learnt it all through primary school and I can play guitar and bass alrightish and have only just started the drums.

Bass trombone

My son graduated from the RCM last year. He plays the bass trombone and is domiciled in London.

forgotten how to breathe.

That must suck. I'd try in and then out if I was you. LOL. but on a more serious note I know what your talking about and good on you for ever being able to do it. I've had people tell me how you're meant to breath but it's impossible for me.

Hahaha. yeah, hadn't done it for years and just haven't been able to get it back. . . but i like the sounds they make, and yeah, i'm a bit musically messed up so it was just something I could do naturally so went with it.

No wonder hornbill doesn't post much.

My musical ability is limited to playing records.

I am a 50+ typical old rock and roll fan. Music was my main interest when I was young. I tried to play electric guitar when I was in my 20s, without much success. Now when I have become older I have taken up the habit again. I jam with a keyboard friend of mine once a week in small cottage. We have a few beers, a shot of whisky now and then, and make a hell lot of noice. Neither me nor my buddy has any talent whatsoever but it sure is fun!

That's the best type of music lol.
I think I got made to play recorder in primary school, same with keyboard in secondary school as they came with music lessons. Now I don't play either, although I used to do loads of plays and musicals with local groups. Can't really sing but it was fun :)

My two sons both played in the local brass band and county youth band when at home - playing trombone and cornet . Used to enjoy travelling with them to competitions , carnivals and all the other places they played at . Playing in a band seems to give you quite a thirst !!!

I play Tuba grade 5/6 which is great and i play in loads of school/local bands. I can play a few other brass instruments too I can play Piano aswell........badly though!,Also im a pretty good singer. :)
