Not sure where to put this. This is my first thread after all. But here is my checklist to the Ramphastos Genus. Consisting of:
- Species i have already seen
- Species i haven't yet seen
- Species i plan to revisit
and finally ones i can't find in europe
.
Let's start with the ones i have already seen:
- Toco Toucan / Ramphastos toco : Zoo Opole for an example. Not the only one tho as this is the most popular species in Zoo's in Europe with a total of 40 ZTL holdings listed.

- Keel Billed Toucan / Ramphastos sulfratus : I have seen a single animal in Toruń Zoo (Now deceased). Also tried Zoo Heidelberg where the toucan simply wasn't there. I talked to a staff member and got informed that the toucan was transfered to another zoo (I still dont know where.)

- Green Billed Toucan / Ramphastos Dicolorus : This species recently made a reapearence in Poland Being held at 2 institutes. I visited it at Opole Zoo and saw what i think were 2 breeding pairs (I have pictures but cannot post them yet).

- Channel Billed Toucan / Ramphastos vitellinus : This is i think the only one i had to visit a zoo outside of Poland to see. It's still currently being held at Zlin Zoo in the Czech Republic where i saw it.(Also same situation. I have pictures but cannot post pictures yet)

That's the first part. Species i have already seen. Im probably gonna finish writing this thread tommorow. Until then please reply if i had made any mistakes.

Are you interested only in Ramphastos toucans or also into aracaris?

Part 2 (Species I haven't seen yet) :
- Chestnut Manibled Toucan / Ramphastos ambiguus : To my knowledge there are none in european zoos.

- Choco Toucan / Ramphastos brevis : Also not held in europe.

- White Throated Toucan / Ramphastos tucanus : 9 holdings in europe (EU) total. Probably gonna see it at Ouwehands Dierenpark this year.

This is probably all for the Ramphastos genus so im gonna make a list of every zoo i saw a toucan at and when:
- Zoo Opole ( Green billed Toucan, Toco Toucan ) 2024

- Zoo Toruń (Keel billed Toucan - now deceased) around 2017-2018

- Zoo Warsaw (Toco Toucan - Now deceased) some time around 2019-2020

- Zoo Zlin (Channel billed toucan) 2023

- Zoo Hodonin ( Green billed toucan) 2023

- Zoo Heidelberg (Toco Toucan) 2024

- Zoo Stuttgard (Wilhelma) (Toco toucan) 2024

And that are only the ones i remembered and thought they were important enough.
That's all.

By the way if anyone has any information about a zoo that still has a chestnut manibled toucan in europe please reply to this.
