Chester Zoo My Chester Zoo Visits

Ive got a few! Could you take a look in the Tropical Realm, to see how the developments are going (if it has progressed more) and could you get me a picture of the full elephant enclosure with the elephants in it, maybe even look out for a baby.

Also could you please take a few Marmoset/Tamarin photo.

Will do my best :). I don't know much about the tropical realm developments but will take a look around in there.

Was at the zoo this afternoon - no sign of any baby elephants (though Sithami is rather round), and talk presenters weren't too willing to say anything about it. The Elephants were in the pool at about 3ish and there was an unscheduled talk to go with this :)

Other than that, I wasn't there for too long and my camera batteries ran out :( - but I got some videos with my flip so watch out for them appearing on my youtube channel...

@Paix no further work that I can see in the Tropical Realm.

Also of note from my little wander today is that the Visayan tarictic hornbill in the Tropical Realm have fledged 3 chicks which look like they are 2.1 and as another plus now means Chester now have 2 breeding pairs of this Hornbill species. Also the Go-Away bird is now on show next door to the above mentioned Hornbills.

Well I was there for about 30 minutes today and had my first view of the Duiker, for about 20 minutes of my trip! I also saw the Red Panda cub on the camera.

Fantastic news and also won't that be 3 breeding pairs now? Unless the other pair (in IoD) produce more females. ;)

Are the other hornbills at Alphjen in Holland, breeding yet?
I had a quick look on ISIS, and they are standing at 2.1 birds.

Just a small correction to this ZG but I saw 4 chicks. Which appear to be 2.2. ;)

The Tropical Realm pair Taricitcs hatched 2.2 this year. Islands in Danger pair have 5 eggs.

The zoo currently has 4.2 adults and 2.2 young.

As per usual I'm at Chester this Sunday, and I also might have time for a quick look around on Wednesday as well.
