What kills me about these speculative aquariums is they have a small amount of species, but then throw in something that has never been kept in captivity before, like a broad-gilled hagfish

It doesn't look like a "small number of species", in my opinion.

There's quite a few species in this that would be difficult to acquire. But as it says in the title, it's my "dream zoo".

Try "illegal" for marine iguanas.

From what I can tell there's only about 100, which is pitiful for an aquarium.

There's nearly 200 species listed, and I excluded mammals and birds from that total, as well as recurring doubles.

I do note a large number of poor mixes here though.

... but then throw in something that has never been kept in captivity before, like a broad-gilled hagfish
Just curious, what is your source for these never having been kept in captivity?

I know that the hagfish are kept at SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium in Sydney, Australia.

From what I can tell there's only about 100, which is pitiful for an aquarium.

This is only one part of the zoo. Most of the zoo is taken up by a section comprising each habitat of Australia & then there's others parts such as Africa, Asia & the Amazon which I'll complete soon.

The total number of species in the Atlas Aquarium is:

Birds: 9
Reptiles: 9
Amphibians: 2
Fish: 152
Invertebrates: 33

another aviary with Grey Goshawk (normal & white morphs) & Morepork.

Not a good mix, the goshawks would likely kill the owls.

This aviary is home to finches (Star, Gouldian & Long-Tailed), Grey-Crowned Babbler, Hooded Parrot, Northern Rosella, Red-Tailed Black-Cockatoo, Dollarbird, quails (King & Chestnut-Breasted Button-), Partridge Pigeon, rock-pigeons (White-Quilled & Chestnut-Quilled), Rainbow Bee-Eater, Blue-Winged Kookaburra, Galah, Australian Pratincole, Australian Bustard, Rufous Bettong, Little Corella, White-Bellied Cuckoo-Shrike & Black Wallaroo.

The kookaburra will eat the finches and possibly the quails.

An enclosure with dead palm fronds, palms & other trees for Coconut Crab & Major Skink

The crabs are likely to injure/eat the skinks.

Western Australia
the Western Australia area is based on the state of Western Australia & the regions which encompass it, particularly the South-West WA, Shark Bay & Pilbara regions.

this part is based on the Karri Forest habitat of south-west WA. Next are two similar enclosures, the first has a mix of wallabies (Western Brush- & Tammar) & the second for Numbat.

Western Swamp-Turtle, a small invertebrate tank has Peacock Spider, there's a mixed species reptile exhibit for Western Shingleback, Superb Two-Lined Dragon & skinks (Western Blue-Tongue & King's), a tank with Spotted Mulga-Snake. Then is the nocturnal part, there's two small enclosures for Starred Knob-Tailed Gecko & Turtle Frog, there's two similar exhibits, one for Dibbler & Red-Tailed Phascogale & the other, which starts off the Shark Bay part has Woylie & Greater Stick-Nest Rat. Starting in the Shark Bay area & moving to the Pilbara part are five reptile tanks ranging in size with one species each, for West Coast Banded-Snake, Pilbara Death-Adder, Pygmy Python, Southern Pilbara Rock-Monitor & Banded Knob-Tailed Gecko.

Not a good mix, the goshawks would likely kill the owls.

The kookaburra will eat the finches and possibly the quails.

The crabs are likely to injure/eat the skinks.

I'll remove to Morepork from that aviary

would a mix of Blue-Winged Kookaburra & Black-Breasted Buzzard or Eastern Grass-Owl work?

I'll put the crabs & skinks in seperate exhibits

No. I don't currently see an existing aviary that would work to mix them in.

or perhaps the Blue-Winged Kookaburra could be kept in one of those smaller aviaries sometimes found within larger walkthrough-aviaries? & thus could be kept within the Savanna Way aviary just separated from the others.

I've already seen Kookaburras mixed with middle-sized birds as Australian Cockatoos, Eclectuses and Keas. It seems to work as I've seen it for many years.
