My Fears Regarding the Future of Zoos due to Coronavirus

I would like to talk about some of my concerns regarding zoos.

I am afraid about the future of zoos with the COVID-19 pandemic. I'm afraid that some zoos will never financially recover and will have to close down. I know that in that case, the animals would be well taken care of and sent to other zoos or possibly be released into the wild.

I am very worried about the Philadelphia and Elmwood Park Zoos.

When I look at all the nice spring days unable to go to the zoo, I get sad and I'm angry over what the pandemic has taken from us. I want to blame someone for my hardship but doing so would not solve the problem.

I know why many zoos stay closed for the safety of the public and staff and the safety of the animals. I am aware many of the big cats at the Bronx Zoo contracted the virus from a keeper, and it could spread to great apes, which are all endangered and every death hurts the species survival.

I want this to end. I want the zoos to reopen and regain the lost funds that they could've attained this year. I want to make new memories and see new species.
