A new Loggerhead Sea Turtle hatchling named Chance is on exhibit at Mystic Aquarium, as part of the Sea Turtle Awareness Program, run by the North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores.
Also, Sand Tiger Sharks were welcomed back to the aquarium with the addition of 2 juveniles in September.

The aquarium is attempting to give a female Northern Fur Seal (Ziggy Star) who is unable to survive in the wild a permanent home. They are currently raising funds to bring her to Connecticut and to take care of her.

Pup 49's name is now Coral (Darn, I wanted Grace.) She can be viewed at the Marine Mammal Center through April 28th.

Coral and 3 other Harbor Seals are now on exhibit at Pacific Northwest.

The video mentions that Ziggy Star is one of 3 fur seals at the aquarium, and Jack and Sam being the other two. That means Baranov must have left Mystic.

Mystic Aquarium hasn't even updated their Beluga Whale page with Naku's passing, which surprises me, as the white whales are their main attraction.

The names of the other seals are Pearl, Hal, and Victoria. I don't know if they're on exhibit with Spanky (resident harbor seal) and the Steller Sea Lions, or the Northern Fur Seals.

The aquariums scientists are keeping track of odd beluga behavior and a pod of Killer Whales.

It seems that the seasonal exhibit "Birds of the Outback", has welcomed more than just Budgerigars, Cockatiels, and Eastern Rosellas this year. According to the aquarium's website, the aviary now includes Regent Parrots, Superb Parrots, an Electus Parrot, and Laughing Kookaburras.

The Aquarium has received a donation of animals from the Ocean Explorium. This is part of preparations for the facility's impending move.

Also they are hosting and art exhibit made of trash from the Oregon coast.

It looks like a load of bland, politically correct garbage anyway (no pun intended), stuff in this vein has been done before, its nothing new, and it doesn't excite me (I guess this is the art critic in me.) It looks like it is done not to offend anyone more than anything. Boooring.

The aquarium is putting finishing touches on a permanent American Alligator exhibit due to open in April. There's also a freshwater pond exhibit that is interactive for visitors.

I remember when they had the swamp things exhibit when I was in middle school, they had an indoor aquarium filled with gator and a number of other things I think. It was temporary. At least some of them were rescues, I know that at least three of them came from a trash can in NYC. I was in a camp group that had a sleepover there during that period and I slept right next to it and even got to touch a young one. I can only imagine how big it must be now if it is still alive...

A new exhibit being called "Exploration: Wild" is being prepared. It will feature five interactive environments (rainforest, tundra, desert, wetlands, and open ocean) as well as the American Alligator exhibit that Gulo gulo mentioned.
