According to the zoo's website, the Reticulated Python has been at the zoo since 2005. The Burmese Python came through the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's Exotic Pet Amnesty Program. So the Burmese Python was a specimen that thankfully avoided being released in the Everglades.
The zoo's fifteen year old female Cheetah, Ngoma, was euthanized on September 17th. The zoo is currently looking into bringing Cheetahs back to Naples.

Visually impaired gibbon, Sumba, is missing and presumed to have drowned in the lake surrounding the exhibit. Divers were brought in but have yet to find the body.
