the Clouded Leopards shift with the Servals, so it's not a guarantee which cat you will see(at least this was the case when I visited in August. they also still had Slender-Horned Gazelles mixed with the bongosdoes the zoo still have clouded leopards or slender horned gazelles, because I saw zero trace of either of them, maybe have missed the slender horned gazelle, but is having doubts that they still have clouded leopards
What a sad loss. I found a picture on the timeline where he still had a mate of his species...! I wonder how many zoos remain that hold buff-cheeked gibbons in the US (the species is certainly not common ..., where the breeding program focusses upon white-cheeked gibbons.).Is sad news, Gibson, the zoos male Buff-Cheeked Gibbon has passed away. He lived at the zoo for 15 years after arriving from Los Angeles Zoo in 2010. He was the zoos only Buff-Cheeked gibbon.
1.8K views · 227 reactions | It is with heavy hearts that we share the sad news of the passing of Gibson, our beloved buff-cheeked gibbon, who lived on Lake Victoria for 15 years. Gibson came to our zoo in 2010 from the Los Angeles Zoo, and over the years, he became an integral part of our Zoo family. He will be deeply missed by all of us. Gibson will be remembered by his keepers for his intelligence, his acrobatics around the island, and his love for stuffed animals. The sound of his morning song early in the morning and the buzzing sounds he made when he was happy will forever be engraved in our memories. | Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens
definitely not many left, the only other zoos I know for sure that still keep Buff-Cheeked Gibbons are San Diego Zoo: Safari Park and Cincinnati Zoo, but there are probably others I don't know about. What a sad loss. I believe Niabi, Denver, Hemker Park, Los Angeles, Naples, Omaha, and Phoenix are also current holders.definitely not many left, the only other zoos I know for sure that still keep Buff-Cheeked Gibbons are San Diego Zoo: Safari Park and Cincinnati Zoo, but there are probably others I don't know about.
