Vancouver Aquarium captured 6 narwhals (1 male, 2 females, 3 calves) and within a brief period of time they all died in captivity. The three calves died within days, one of the females died after 2 months, the second adult female died after 10 weeks, and the male (named Keelaluga) died on December 26th, 1970, and was the last ever to be exhibited by that particular aquarium.
