Wow that looks amazing! The renderings totally undersold it. Unfortunately I visited just two weeks too early to see it in person, but all the more reason for a return visit, I suppose.

It looks very good so far. But where will be the crocodile monitors during the winter? Are they off the show? That would be a pity and a "waste".

It looks like that exhibit is indoors, so I probably would believe that the monitors stay on exhibit? This is just speculation, though.

The area they are in is primarily an indoor Komodo dragon exhibit. When the dragons are outdoors in the summer the crocodile monitors will take up the indoor enclosure; when the dragons are indoors in the winter red-crowned crane will occupy the outdoor enclosure. While it would be nice to see all three species at all times, it’s nice to see the zoo has found a way to keep both areas lively year-round.
