The park is taking part in a collaboration with eight other zoos and aquariums within the Kanto region of Japan. The collaboration is a stamp rally where dedicated individuals have to fill in a stamp form by visiting all nine facilities and receiving a prize.
It's possible they came from Shanghai, which demolished one of its cat complexes recently. However, I don't think that Jaguar were held there last year, although there were more cages behind the scenes in that area as well.
the jaguars' names have been decided, the male is names Soru (Sol) and the female has been named Runa (Luna). Park's official twitter also has shown that the great white pelicans have arrived.
The wetland exhibit is getting an expansion with two new species the American beaver and the Eurasian otter (which explains the aquamarine Fukushima collaboration).
The park plans to add smooth-fronted caimans to the wetland exhibit I forgot to mention previously that the additions are expected to be displayed to the public at July 14
A temporary beetle safari exhibit will be held. This exhibit will consist of 50 individuals of 24 species of Japanese and exotic beetles including atlas beetle, elephant beetle, and Hercules beetle.
It is female jaguar Luna's second birthday. According to a tweet of the manager (if google translate is correct) the jaguar was from 西霞口動物園. I don't know if Sol ,the male jaguar, is also from the same park.
Some think is not right about the female jaguar Luna. She seems to have an infection/lump/growth on the left side of her jaw. The (translations of) tweets that give attention to Luna's wound, point out that this might be a result on an injury while being introduced to the male Jaguar Sol through a wire mesh probably between July 26 and 27. However, if the translations are correct, according to the tweet of the first link the keepers might be giving Luna medications.
